The Ministry of Economic Development (MED) is providing funding of € 30 million for renewable energy installations on buildings owned by the government of the State, Regions, Provinces, Municipalities and Mountain Communities in Campania, Calabria, Puglia and Sicily.
The announcement (pdf) of the Directorate General for Nuclear Energy, renewable energy and energy efficiency of the Department of Energy of the ESM provides up to 100% of the eligible cost.
The initiative is part of the implementation of the Operational Programme Interregional (POI) Energy, an instrument through which it is implemented to provisions of the National Strategic Framework 2007-2013. This initiative - said the ministry - by supporting the production and use of renewable energy, aims to encourage the adoption of a new energy culture among the population and promote the development of local business.

The total cost per project, exclusive of the costs of the communication program, is between 100,000 and 1,000,000 €.
